Control Group
The group in a clinical trial that receives a placebo or standard treatment for comparison.
Minimal Risk Research
Studies where the probability of harm or discomfort is no greater than everyday experiences.
Serious Adverse Event (SAE)
An adverse event that results in death, hospitalization, disability, or other significant harm.
Trial Feasibility Study
Research conducted to determine if a clinical trial is practical and achievable.
Investigator
The researcher conducting and overseeing the clinical trial at a specific site.
Placebo Effect
A phenomenon where a participant experiences a perceived improvement in symptoms due to their belief in the treatment.
Biomarker
A measurable biological indicator used to assess health, disease, or the effects of treatment.
Phase 3 Trial
The third phase, testing a treatment�s efficacy and monitoring side effects in a much larger population.
